Watching Beatles Hard Days Night with Gile. Filmed in 1964 same year I saw them in Portland.

Sat in with WR Orchestra last night, practice for a performance next month. In Twin now just finished violin lesson now off to watch local orchestra play at CSI. A whole new world has opened with pretending to be a musician. Just love it.

Sat in with Wood River Orchestra practice session last night. I played about 8 notes during the 2 hours I was there. They were all so nice inviting me to please come back. Hmmm... to be continued.

3. Idaho sprang forward today and it’s now an hour later.

4. I use a VPN so my phone should think I’m in Dallas Tx. They are 2 hours later than Mexico.

5. My phone settings say my clock is using Mazatlan time.

I’m now recalling the classic title by Chicago "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" daily til get back to Idaho.

Snorkeling the other day… I was no more than 5 minutes in the ocean at The Palmilla beach when I captured this, one of 2 schools of fish. The water is a little murky but my GoPro was quick to film them.

This aging thing has got to stop! I don’t even drink or smoke and every morning I feel like I’ve been run over by a truck.

A groomed run Baja style. The trail/service road to the top of the hill behind our house had been a rutted mess for years. It became too tricky for my old knees to hike it. But “they” groomed it. Yippee! I was able to pull off a hike yesterday and to us mountain folk was so uplifting… no pun intended.

Before designing the seal, I was careful to make a thorough study of the resources and future possibilities of the State. I invited the advice and counsel of every member of the Legislature and other citizens qualified to help in creating a Seal of State that really represented Idaho at that time. Idaho had been admitted into the Union on July 3rd, 1890. The first state Legislature met in Boise on December 8, 1890, and on March 14th, 1891, adopted my design for the Great Seal of the State of Idaho.

The question of Woman Suffrage was being agitated somewhat, and as leading men and politicians agreed that Idaho would eventually give women the right to vote, and as mining was the chief industry, and the mining man the largest financial factor of the state at that time, I made the figure of the man the most prominent in the design, while that of the woman, signifying justice, as noted by the scales; liberty, as denoted by the liberty cap on the end of the spear, and equality with man as denoted by her position at his side, also signifies freedom. The pick and shovel held by the miner, and the ledge of rock beside which he stands, as well as the pieces of ore scattered about his feet, all indicate the chief occupation of the State. The stamp mill in the distance, which you can see by using a magnifying glass, is also typical of the mining interest of Idaho. The shield between the man and woman is emblematic of the protection they unite in giving the state. The large fir or pine tree in the foreground in the shield refers to Idaho’s immense timber interests. The husbandman plowing on the left side of the shield, together with the sheaf of grain beneath the shield, are emblematic of Idaho’s agricultural resources, while the cornucopias, or horns of plenty, refer to the horticultural. Idaho has a game law, which protects the elk and moose. The elk’s head, therefore, rises above the shield. The state flower, the wild Syringa or Mock Orange, grows at the woman’s feet, while the ripened wheat grows as high as her shoulder. The star signifies a new light in the galaxy of states… The river depicted in the shield is our mighty Snake or Shoshone River, a stream of great majesty.

In regard to the coloring of the emblems used in the making of the Great Seal of the State of Idaho, my principal desire was to use such colors as would typify pure Americanism and the history of the State. As Idaho was a virgin state, I robed my goddess in white and made the liberty cap on the end of the spear the same color. In representing the miner, I gave him the garb of the period suggested by such mining authorities as former United States Senator George Shoup, of Idaho, former Governor Norman B. Willey of Idaho, former Governor James H. Hawley of Idaho, and other mining men and early residents of the state who knew intimately the usual garb of the miner. Almost unanimously they said, “Do not put the miner in a red shirt.” “Make the shirt a grayish brown,” said Captain J.J. Wells, chairman of the Seal Committee. The “Light of the Mountains” is typified by the rosy glow which precedes the sunrise.

I thought wow my summer line is Mexico inspired. We’re on the same path. YEP, BIG 70th BIRTHDAY TODAY... laughing and crying at the same time. Not sure that’s physically possible but it’s what it feels like.

I’m saying big number happy birthdays to many of “my generation” these days. I’m reminded of the good things we marched and worked for over the years, civil rights for blacks, equal rights for women, clean up our beloved earth and of course stopping war, the Vietnam War. If you follow the news you’d think we’d made absolutely no progress in these areas. But we have!

Message to my younger self. Good job, but just know that when you turn 70 you will have made much progress but this work will not be done. There are still blacks in the inner cities that need our help in breaking a generation of patterns that hurt them. Women? “You’ve come along way baby”. Earth? Yes the air and rivers are cleaner but this plastic thing has got to change. War? Not too many wars out there. The saddest and most unexpected war seems to be amongst the people and this one breaks my heart.

Message to the next generation. Carry the torch we started, don’t go crazy canceling the free speech and freedoms we cherished and our guys and gals fought for. And for gods sake get off social media as much as you can and get a life.

Gile and I had to put our pug Buddha down today. 14 years of joy. Our hearts are breaking. He was the unchosen one of the litter and when I took him to the vet for the first time he said “well he’s not a perfect specimen”, I said well that makes 2 of us. Life is not going to be same without him. I thank god for Gile and his love of animals for shaping that little dog to be the best friend a gal can have. ... had to add one more photo. My view from the hammock this morning.

The beach in San Jose Del Cabo was beautiful today. The awareness to protect this wonderful asset has really changed over the years. A group of high schoolers were bussed in and roamed the beach cleaning up the plastic. It’s a good sign. Turn up the volume for a few moments of calm.

Product testing from Los Cabo’s. As they say “someone’s gotta do it”. Testing new, lighter weight, legging fabric.

I switched to a new manufacturer this year, favoring their improved quality and faster delivery, 8 day turnaround!!! Customers may recall the original leggings were a compression fabric and took 3 weeks to deliver. The compression was nice but many thought them uncomfortable, maybe too much compression...🙂

The new fabric has a lighter feel but still shapes and holds you in without feeling like you’re being cut in half. This fabric doesn’t loose its shape or “bag out” after wearing them all day. Even a sunny walk on the beach gave me UV protection and I didn’t have that sweaty clammy feeling wearing them in 85 degree temps that day.

We’re in Mexico, weathers been great until today it started to drizzle... a little. For added effect turn the sound up.

I’ve had many people ask how I’m producing my Bunny Hill Activewear so I thought I’d share a few details on the manufacturing of my designs. I use what’s called a print on demand process. Applying my art, with the aid of a CAD program, to the garment patterns the manufacturers have available.

The manufacturer prints it, sews it, and drop ships it to my customers. They can do all this and have it on your doorstep in 8 days. It’s a miracle❤️ They don’t manufacture in sweat shops and I don’t carry massive amounts of inventory. Aside from sampling I only produce what I sell limiting waste and the overall product footprint through the process. Our products are designed in Sun Valley and manufactured in North America.

My manufacturer is connected directly to my website. When I create a new product it automatically puts that product on my site along with the product shots you see. When an order comes in that order goes directly back to the manufacturer for processing. It’s so cool!!!!

I’ve been creating products to sell for as long as I can remember. This advancement in manufacturing is so exciting it taps right into my arty and geeky skills. So much so that at a time when I could be considering retirement I’ve embraced staying in the “game”. Arty types never retire we just evolve...😀

Ski fashions have evolved but the common “thread”? We love racing stripes. I was trying to determine the date of the vintage photo... very early 60’s? Any ideas?

I read an article giving credit to the ski industry for introducing many textile innovations... probably true. 👍

RIP Karl Lagerfeld. I have marveled at your endless creativity, sense of humor and ability to reinvent the classic Chanel brand with respect to its origins.

To quote the Chanel website tribute, “The greatest tribute we can pay today is to continue to follow the path he traced by – to quote Karl – ‘continuing to embrace the present and invent the future’.”

One of my favorite Chanel runway shows when Karl turned the Grande Palais in Paris into a grocery store. He showed us fashionistas that sensible shoes can be cool. 😀❤️👍

“When in Rome...” see everything you can even if it means walking 10 miles a day. 🤪 Max has been a great guide directing his mom, who’s sight, hearing and footing are not what they used to be, from incredible site to incredible site. We’ve seen The Pantheon, Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Square, climbed the Spanish Steps, toured The Colosseum and Roman Forum, rode a 4 wheel cart/bike around Borghese Gardens (so beautiful and fun), viewed the city from Altar of the Fatherland, loved the contrasts of exhibitions by Jackson Pollock and Andy Warhol, marveled the fountains Fiumi, Trevi, Neptune...and more. We’ve window shopped, drank and ate ourselves across the city. Making memories one step at a time. 💕👍

Florence, Italy!!! Honestly feeling overwhelmed. The contrast between home and here is a shock to the system. Max and I have hit the ground running with nonstop sightseeing from our room across from the Mercato Centrale to a quick afternoon train ride to Pisa. Expresso’s, bread, olive oil, cheeses, deli meats, fresh produce, gelato and chocolates are fuel. We’ve seen masterpieces of The Renaissance, Duomo’s, bridges over the Arno River, the “original” David not to be mistaken for the “unoriginal” David’s. I’ve fallen in love with navy blue worn beautifully by the locals. Store windows are telling of future trends and The Pitti Museum of Fashion has wowed us with Animalia Fashion. “An unexpected encounter between Haute Couture and Nature at Pitti Palace to discover the wonders of the animal world!”. Tomorrow Rome☕️🚀

We got right to it and started visiting all the popular museums, sites and classic car shows that inspired us to come this time of year. Though rainy and nippy at times we’ve avoided typical crowds at every spot. We even got The Mona Lisa for about 5 minutes by ourselves, I hear that just doesn’t happen. I’m in awe to say the least. The art, history, food and fashion is everything I’ve heard and hoped it would be. Here are a few shots from our week. We leave for Florence, Italy tomorrow February 10th for 3 days then onto Rome.

Slipped on a rug this morning. My wrist broke my fall, I did not break my wrist. The interesting part of this incident is my Apple Watch detected I fell and asked if I needed emergency services. Wow that’s kind of cool to have as I stumble through my senior years.❤️👍

The textures and colors of our yard. Gile and our gardener have been planting some of the most beautiful desert plants. Dont expect to learn anything from my captions, I’m no botanist I just think these plants, whatever they’re called, are pretty. ❤️💋🌴🌵

TRUE CONFESSION SUNDAY!

Been struggling with being the face of my Bunny Hill brand. There was a time when I hated having my picture taken, as seen in this lovely Easter shot. 50+ years later that inner child still cringes in front of the camera though I’ve learned to fake it. 😩

Many have said “oh Vickey we love seeing you work your brand” and others have most likely just unfollowed over sheer boredom. 😀

So now that I’ve confessed let it be known that I’m looking for a brand ambassador/model. DM me for suggestions and details on what that means. 😊
